Meet our featured Salty Dog for the month of August, Rufus.
Animal Control officers with the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office found the puppy with an injured leg on NW 6th Avenue in July.
The puppy, who has since been renamed Rufus, also had a broken jaw. Investigators said the injury is consistent with being kicked or stomped by his former owner.
Ruff Pet Rescue in Indiantown took in poor pup and our partner veterinarian, Jupiter Pet Emergency & Specialty Center, performed surgery to install titanium plates and screws to reattach the puppy’s jaw.
Rufus has had his first surgery and will have another on Friday, August the 4th. Rufus is very lucky to be alive and now needs your help to fully recover. The cost for Rufus’ first surgery was $2,275.00.
Please donate to help Rufus recover from his horrendous injuries.
All the money raised for Rufus will go directly to his treatment – we do not keep any portion!
